There are places on earth where energy is stored in a particular manner. And there are people who possess special energies. One of them is the extreme-mountaineer Reinhold Messner. He was the first person to conquer an eight thousand metre high mountain alone. He climbed Mount Everest, the highest mountain on this planet without additional oxygen and he was also the first person to have climbed all fourteen mountains on earth higher than eight thousand metres. Messner is an exceptional human being who lives in an exceptional place. Sigmundskron, a derelict castle in his hometown of Bozen was first mentioned as early as 945. After an eventful history and several owners, among them the Bishop of Trient, the defensive installation which had been left to wrack and ruin for centuries, now belongs to Reinhold Messner. He was not only excited about the history, but mainly about the location of the castle, which now houses another of his museums.
A unique project was launched in which Berendsohn and Reinhold Messner cooperated to enable many people to share this power. A limited edition of 10,000 small porphyritic rock segments is now being sent off as an exclusive design by Berendsohn. The segments were collected from around the foundation walls of Sigmundskron which has been a known settlement for 5,000 years. Then the segments were improved and encapsulated in clear artificial resin, so that the stone is well protected and the oval and even shape feels haptic and good in your hand and the mysterious glittering of the stone can be admired. People immediately associate Messner's name with mountains. That is why the cosmic stone swings from a signal-red climbing rope, to which are attached two small snap locks for keys or pendants. The article is wrapped in a glacier-blue gift box. In this context, Messner quotes Albert Einstein as saying, "Rock is stored energy". Not only the owner of this original mascot profits from this energy, but also the Messner Mountain Foundation which will receive EUR 5.00 for each key-ring sold. The foundation is self-supporting and supports endangered mountain tribes in earthquake areas, such as Pakistan.
