Design Center Stuttgart

The Design Center Stuttgart of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg is the oldest institute of its kind and, at the same time, the only state-owned design centre in Germany. Until the end of 2004, the Design Center Stuttgart was attached to the Baden-Württemberg Regional Factory Inspectorate. Following its winding down, the Center was formally attached to the Stuttgart Regional Council. Each year, the Design Center Stuttgart of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg invites entries to compete for the International Design Award Baden-Württemberg.

The state prize for futuristic, professional, extraordinary design achievements is awarded to manufacturers and designers. The prizes 'Focus in Gold' and 'Focus in Silver' are desired confirmation for highest design quality. The focus changes every year, thus presenting a real challenge for those who enter the competition while, at the same time, also presenting the topic for supporting events. The renowned competition can look back over a long tradition and enjoys a high reputation both in Germany and abroad.

International Design Award Baden-Württemberg

In 2002, the Design Center Stuttgart invited entries for the subject 'Focus on Lifestyle'. The state prize for futuristic and outstanding design achievements is awarded to manufacturers and designers.
